What are some rare photos of world history

  1. Venezuelan priest offers last rites to a soldier shot during an attempted coup in Venezuela in 1962.
2. A Canadian soldier and a Mohawk Indian stare each other down during the Oka Crisis in 1990.
3. Johnny Cash and Ray Charles hanging out.
4. The day Sweden switched which sides of the road they were to drive on. 1967
5. Crow Indian scouts visiting Little Bighorn in 1913, almost 40 years after the battle was fought.
6. People being buried as a result of the India-Pakistan Partition. 1947. Origin of the people is unknown.
7. Native American paratroopers from the 101st Airborne Division putting war paint on each others’ faces before jumping into Normandy. Note the mohawks as well. (Editor’s note: I put this in here because certain people will think of this picture as some sort of racism or “cultural appropriation”. They probably are Mohawk or Iroquois.)
8. Chairman Mao and Zhou Enlai sitting and talking under an umbrella by the beach.
9. Here lies Griselio Torresola… one of two Puerto Rican nationalist gunmen who attempted to storm the Blair House and assassinate President Truman in 1950. Truman was living in the Blair House while the White House was being renovated. Both gunmen were stopped and didn’t make it any further than the front steps. One cop was killed, two cops were wounded, and the other gunman was wounded and taken into custody.
10. Duk Koo Kim, lying on the canvas after being knocked out by Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini in their barn burner of a boxing match on November 13, 1982. Kim died four days later as a result of the damage he sustained in the bout. After this, fights were dropped to a 12 round maximum; which were previously held at 15 rounds.
